Oil prices fall on record U.S. crude stocks, rising production

Reuters - Comodities -- Oil prices fell on Thursday as record U.S. crude inventories underscored that crude markets remain bloated, despite efforts led by OPEC to cut output and prop up prices.

Brent crude futures, the international benchmark for oil, were at $54.07 per barrel at 0310 GMT, down 29 cents, or 0.5 percent, from their last close.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 30 cents, or 0.6 percent, at $50.85 a barrel.

Traders said the falls came on the back of rising U.S. crude production that bolstered inventories to record levels.

U.S. fuel inventories and oil production levels are key to whether the United States will remain the world's biggest oil importer, helping to support prices, or if its soaring output and large stocks lead to more exports to the rest of the world, which

lots of gimmicks in the app = lots of data being wasted for nothing. Time to start looking for other services that focus on gas prices, not entertainment.

LM: would have, but the average here jumped by over 15 cents, some stations jacked it up by 29 cents in less than 2 weeks!

Would have been nice if it had fallen further temporarily as we had only entered the $42-46 a barrel range as I was expecting with the WTI alone. Would have been nice to see gas at $1.99-2.08 a gallon.

oh yea, silly me! I forgot that GB is no longer in the business of informing consumers about gas prices and financing itself with some ads, but it's in the business of pushing ads to those silly folks who think there's some value in the gas prices reported on the site.

with all the money spent on gimmicks and silly stuff in both app and on the websites that are useless, how about making the site into an https:// site thus, securing the members' information rather than exposing it any and all?

Soooo, add it up: 2 plus 2 does = 5. If we keep exporting our crude, supply down, price at the pump up. Sorry Joe Q.
